Aircraft crash Beechcraft Bonanza that killed Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper near Mason City, Iowa.  The accident was caused by icing and the unwise decision of the pilot to fly into deteriorating weather conditions when he was not instrument rated.
