the pilot and copilot were both of them the first who died, according to latest researches it should be Spanair the one that should feel ashamed and guilt for letting them take off with a plane that wasnt ready for such a journey

I just read somewhere that one of the thrust reversers was actually activated, according to investigators. That’s like having one engine pulling the plane forward and the other one going in reverse.

If the pilot was still alive he would have felt so much guilt even though it wasnt his fauly.

………..Maybe deaths are just numbers, but im sure none of us would like to end as a number, cos behind that theres alot of people, friends, family and lifes broken, so lets make it better by just understanding this…………..

…….I really think they would have to think about taking out this old airplanes and replacing them for new technology, thats how it must be, the old goes to make a place for the new. But of course that costs money, and everyone knows that most big multinacionals preffer not to spend it if theres no need, thats understandable, but when we talk about life protection it should be more considered to be generous in security and come on, planes really dont have all the security they could……….

…………The problem is that this type of airplanes are very old, they work fine, but they are old and more uncomfortable, they are used alot in Europe as short distances. They use Kerosene fuel which is very dangerous because burns very quickly and makes big explosions like in these case……………

……………..Two more airplanes of these same type MD-80,the next days canceled the fly while flying also cos mechanical problems, and obviouslly that scares people even more………………………..

Last news here in Spain are telling that the problem might be mechanical. A switch they founded in the airplane leftparts was locked so the pilot would have not been able to make the airplane wings stable. Anyway theres open an investigation.

RIP… I hate ignorant tunnel visioned pilots. Cost saving is the key in this plane crash. IMO to change planes, tickets of all passengers to another flight is an issue of impossibility. Take a chance try your luck and gambling with lives of people was on that day. Fucking disgrace, regardless of which airliner nor country.

Could this have been a flaps problem? It seems the plane could not get lift enough on takeoff.

15 years old is not old for a plane.
It was going to be changed beacuase it needs 25% more fuel than modern craft. (So you waste the samefule making 4 trips while the new planes make 5).
If it had been only a left engine problem, the plane would not have crashed, and if a left engine fails the natural trend is for the plane to pull left not right like it did.

How can a 15 year old plane with all its maintanance up to date be an over-used plane?
